About Performance People Training Solutions
Performance People was created to reflect a simple but often overlooked truth: sustainable performance starts with people. How people think, relate and lead, shapes what is possible in organisations over time. My work focuses on developing the human capabilities that sit beneath performance: intrapersonal, interpersonal and leadership skills that influence judgement, behaviour, relationships and workplace culture.
When these capabilities are strengthened, performance improves, and the effects can extend into wider organisational impact including recruitment, retention, absenteeism, presenteeism, engagement, loyalty, confidence, wellbeing and discretionary effort.
About Helen Lawson

I’m Helen Lawson, Founder and Trainer at Performance People Training Solutions.
I design and deliver training that helps people think more clearly, work more effectively with others, and lead with confidence and care in demanding environments. I pride myself in securing consistently excellent feedback from clients and delegates alike. My background in business, education and health included training and teaching for over 20 years. In each of these areas, it was apparent that gaps in intrapersonal, interpersonal and leadership skills were the key to unlocking enormous untapped potential. And so this training enterprise, with its unique set of priorities, was born. My time is devoted to developing individuals, teams and organisations to evolve, galvanise and maximise their impact sustainably, through offering training spaces full of energy and possibility. |
My work is shaped by both evidence and extensive real-world experience. I’m deeply curious about people and how they think, feel and behave. My passion is developing and delivering training that genuinely translates into everyday practice, leaving people and their places enriched, personally and professionally. I focus on strengthening thinking, awareness and capability, so people can make better judgements for themselves in real situations, both now and in the future.
My experiences extend across private, public and third sector organisations. In addition to providing services for my own clients, I also have extensive experience of delivering training as an associate (non-disclosure agreements apply), for an international training company. From some of the largest multinational retailers and tech companies in the world, to premier entertainment venues and much more besides, my experiences incorporate working at all levels, across six continents. This work has taken me, virtually, to far flung corners of the world, with remotely managed teams, where challenges and cultural awareness are of paramount importance.

How I work
It is essential to me that every client, and delegate, can expect and experience consistently exceptional levels of service before, during and after training sessions. All communications, session design, development and delivery come from me. No variability, in skill, motivation or experience. The goal is always excellence.
This work matters deeply to me, and that commitment shapes how every session is designed and delivered. Training has impact when it is human, purposeful and grounded in reality. Sessions are interactive and discussion-led, co-created with the group rather than delivered at them. I listen carefully in the room, adapt to what emerges, and use contributions as fuel for learning. People are not problems to be fixed, they are sources of wisdom to be unleashed.
Learning sticks when people care, feel respected, and are given the right conditions to think, reflect, and crucially plan the changes that are meaningful for them. Alongside care, there is challenge. Psychological safety is balanced with accountability, responsibility and high standards. The work and outcomes are serious, without being heavy or performative.

Guiding principles- People don’t stop being people at work. Skills such as communication, emotional intelligence and self-management travel with us, and matter everywhere.
- Marginal gains add up. Small, cumulative improvements in thinking and behaviour can materially improve performance over time. - Great learning experiences are not a ‘nice to have’. Feeling valued, energised and engaged accelerates learning and impact. - Performance and wellbeing are connected. Wellbeing isn’t the headline of my work, but it is a foundation and a consequence of good leadership, healthy culture and strong human skills. |
Who this tends to suit
I work with public, private and third-sector organisations, and it is particularly well suited to environments where:
- performance matters, but not at the expense of people
- leaders want to create clarity, trust and accountability
- learning needs to land in the real world, not just the classroom
If you’re looking for training that is thoughtful, evidence-informed and deeply human, we’re likely a good fit.
